Greatest Love

Fedora | 2008-09-06 09:09:29
Everyone (that includes me) wants to meet the 'love of your life'. We want to see if what we hoped for when we were younger -- to meet that one great love, will ever ever happen. Of course, every woman (maybe even man too!) is hoping, with fingers crossed, that the ultimate love will arrive.

I am one of those dreaming to meet McDream. Every now and then, I meet men who are single or are posing as single (you know what I mean!) who try to woo me. Gosh, there are those who can shake the earth with their good looks. While others, so-so. Not so handsome but they pass. Anyway, what am I really looking for in a man? What am I looking for in that great love? The greatest love? What about it? Is it really true?

I have a friend who recently got married last August 8, 2008, not the 13th! And hopefully not unlucky. They met some years back but to tell you, my friend was with another man that time. She wasn’t even looking at others. But when something happened between her and the then current lover, this older man and who apparently was already in love (love at first sight, yes!) with her did not lose time in courting my friend. They are about a decade apart. He is 35 while she is 25, but it did not matter.

Friends tried to talk my friend (but not me!) out of it. Hey, he’s older but then she fell for him. Lucky him and good for her, I think.

As for me? I am still hoping to meet my love. THE LOVE. The one greatest love to carry me over the threshold of our home and stay with me until we grow old. I am still waiting. And I am hopeful he’ll come. Soon.

Bad Break Up

Ava_LiveLove | 2008-09-05 17:57:12
No break-up is a good break up. Almost always, it ends up badly even how you "talk" and try to settle things. It always has its ugly side. Friends would tell us that it will be alright (it always will be, by the way).

You just think it's okay. But when you think about it, it really is not (Your mind tells you that). Once you see your "ex" with another partner... Oh well, it becomes another story.

How does one get over a break up? Much less a "bad break up"? I did come out from one. I thought I died a million deaths the moment it happened to me. I could not eat for over a week or, at least, did not have the appetite. Even if I had people around me, I would just break down and cry. The shame!

Eventually when I got to think over everything, he is not worth all those sleepless nights. Not the tears. Not the time. And I had a choice. Mine alone. It always is up to me. I had to be the one to get up and clean my act in order to move on and get on with my life. I had a choice, I thought. I had a choice to get up and be better or to sulk and cry and be miserable.

My friends and family were always there to help. I was glad I had such a good support group. I eventually accepted how it is. We are not getting back at each other's arms (how could we, he was a swine!). I went out with my friends and then met some new ones, too. It was hard, but I was able to do it. Before I knew it, I got over my “ex” and found the welcoming, comforting arms of a much better man.

Funniest Date Ever

Sweet_Kaye | 2008-09-04 09:45:49
It was during our college years when both me and my best girl friend went out. I was with my recent boyfriend (then). It was a planned outing for me and her plus the (my) boyfriend, of course! Saturday, after PE class.

After lunch at a nearby mall, we're off to watch a movie.

While eating, my girl friend told me she had a bad fight with her then boyfriend. Oh.. I wonder why. Maybe because of some petty things, as usual. With being young, we tend to fight over such trivial matters. Anyway, let me get to my story.

We just had our lunch and were waiting to get a ride to the cinema when this girlfriend told me that her boyfriend (who she did not want to see) was there. I asked her where, since I did not really get to see him. And then, she pointed to some direction (this happened years ago.. I cannot possibly recall all directions!). Indeed, the guy was there.

It was funny because we had to run away from the guy! Really, we were like kids scared of something that we had to run to get to a taxi. Another thing, some classmates saw us doing that! Hah! It became the butt of joke in class came Monday.

So we were relieved when we finally arrived to the cinema and were quite sure that it was already “safe” to relax. We were already having fun when my friend told me… he’s here. I was like, who? Who’s here? She told me... My estranged boyfriend is here… She gotta be kidding me when she told me that. I mean, the mall had about four cinemas and he could not know what movie we were watching that time! My boyfriend and I were already shaking in our seats in laughter. It was like a comedic act - when you want someone that badly, there’s no way that’s gonna be stopped.
